
Activist and critical voice of contemporary tourism, CEO Casa Costa 1956
Michil Costa is an environmental hotelier, a Ladin man of nature, and the CEO of Casa Costa 1956, a family group that includes four hotels: Hotel La Perla and Berghotel Ladinia in Corvara, Alta Badia, the BIO Alpine Hotel Gran Fodà in San Vigilio di Marebbe, and the Hotel La Posta in Bagno Vignoni, Val d’Orcia. The group operates according to the principles of the Economy of Common Good, and Hotel La Perla is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World and is GSTC certified.
He is president of the Maratona dles Dolomites and founder, in 2007, of the Casa Costa Foundation ETS, a non-profit organisation that supports social, cultural and territorial inclusion and regeneration projects in Italy and worldwide. Author of FuTurismo – An heartfelt appeal against tourism monoculture (Raetia, 2022) and host of the Costa Discordia podcast, he advocates for humane, authentic and regenerative tourism, one that respects limits and restores harmony between people, communities and the environment.
