Bio

Jean-Claude Messant has been General Manager of the Royal Mansour Marrakech since 2014. In 2024, with the opening of the Royal Mansour Casablanca and the Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay, he became Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the newly founded Royal Mansour Collection, an achievement that marked the expansion of one of the world's most prestigious luxury hospitality brands.

With an international career that includes leading iconic properties such as the Saint James's Hotel & Club in London, the Royal Barrière in Deauville, Hôtel Fouquet's and Hôtel de Crillon in Paris and Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo, he has decades of experience in opening, elevating and repositioning luxury hotels.

Under his leadership, the Royal Mansour Marrakech has consistently ranked among the best in the world. In 2025, the Palace was included in the “World's 50 Best Hotels“, obtaining titles such as Best Hotels in Africa, WhistlePig Highest Climber e 13th best hotel in the world, while maintaining the prestigious five-star rating of the Forbes Travel Guide.

Over the years, the hotel has received numerous other accolades: it was recognised by Condé Nast Traveler as one of the best in Africa, was awarded Best City Hotel in Africa 2020 and has been repeatedly honoured in international hotel management awards and “world class hotel” rankings. These honours reflect the institution's sustained excellence in hospitality, service quality and guest experience.

Jean-Claude Messant stands out not only for his strategic and operational expertise, but also for his deeply human approach to luxury hospitality.
