DANY STAUFFACHER was born in 1953 in Zurich. He grew up in Lugano, where he still lives today in a converted old factory. His life is closely linked to sport and food: at the age of 17 he made his debut in the Swiss Basketball League and at 20 he began selling sportswear. Travelling extensively for business between Europe, America and Asia, he has visited over 3,000 restaurants worldwide, developing a strong passion for fine dining. In 2007, he founded the communication agency Sapori Ticino with the aim of creating and managing quality food and wine projects. This led to the creation of S.Pellegrino Sapori Ticino, whose 20th edition is currently taking place, dedicated this year to the theme of Gourmet Switzerland: one of Europe's most important gastronomic festivals, which has hosted over 550 Michelin stars and 5,500 Gault Millau points.

Besides food and wine, Dany Stauffacher's passions are fishing, his Ducati and the Ticino mountains. He is convinced that food and wine is the best way to promote the region but also to create relationships, have fun and cultivate friendships.
