General Manager - Castelfalfi

Roberto Protezione has been General Manager of Castelfalfi since February 2023. With more than twenty years of experience in high-end hospitality behind him, he now leads one of the most ambitious projects in the Italian hôtellerie: a reality that combines hospitality of excellence, valorisation of the territory, agriculture and sustainability.
Prior to joining Castelfalfi, he served for five years as General Manager at Belmond Castello di Casole, where he supervised not only hotel management, but also the estate's real estate and agricultural activities. His career also includes significant international experience in the United Arab Emirates, at the St. Regis Saadiyat Island and the Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort & Spa.
His career began in revenue management at Starwood Hotels & Resorts, with strategic assignments at the St. Regis Grand and the Excelsior in Rome, and then continued in Florence. Under his leadership, Castelfalfi has consolidated its position in international markets, becoming part of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts and Virtuoso circuits, and obtaining prestigious recognitions such as inclusion in the Travel + Leisure World's Best Awards 2025 as No. 1 Resort in Italy, No. 2 in Europe and among the top 20 in the Top 100 Hotels in the World, the 5 Stars of the Forbes Star Awards 2025 and two Michelin Keys.
Among the most significant projects carried out under his direction are the complete renovation of the Spa, the inauguration of the new 'Aria' events area, and the introduction of training programmes for all staff, with the aim of further raising service standards.
